Dear Friends of Towpath Bike,

Thank you so much for your continued support throughout these past weeks. As bicycle repair shops have been recognized as an essential business we are happy to say our doors will stay open. We are thrilled with this announcement, but we acknowledge this precarious situation - so in response, we are implementing policies designed to keep our staff members and clients safe while in our building. 

Store Hours

We will be keeping our reduced hours in place for the immediate future. We will re-examine the situation in a few weeks and make adjustments as necessary.

  • Tuesday - Friday: 11:00 - 6:00
  • Saturday: 10:00 to 5:00

Limitations On Customers In The Store

We are allowing no more than 4 customers in the store at any time. Please understand that this is a necessary precaution to keep our staff members safe, healthy, and comfortable. Below are recommendations to help us reduce foot traffic and make this an easy transition.

  • We strongly encourage you to call us before your visit. This will help us manage customer traffic, prepare an order, ready your repair, or answer any questions. If you’re looking for a bicycle or product that may require an extended conversation, we encourage you to schedule an appointment with a staff member.

  • All bicycle repair intake will occur outside of the store. Please pre-book your repair over the phone. Once we have your information, leave your bicycle in the rack out front, wait outside our store, a staff member will be with you promptly. All bicycles must be dropped off for repair. We will not be offering any on-the-spot services at this point. Please understand this is necessary to reduce the amount of people in the building.

  • Pay for your bicycle repair over the phone. Once your repair is paid, we will happily bring your bike out to your car for a curbside pickup. We will be calling all customers upon completion of their repair to offer this service.

  • Please give our staff space. We are mandating our staff keep a safe distance from clients throughout all interactions. Please help our employees feel comfortable and respond in kind.

  • Pre-Shop Online. We are encouraging customers to shop online and select curbside pickup. If we can fully accommodate your needs without stepping into our store, we are happy to do so! Call ahead, we’ll prepare your order so it is ready when you arrive.

  • Mobile Service Packages. We are encouraging our clients to take advantage of our mobile service options. We’re offering door to door service for repairs and new bicycle deliveries.
Protecting Our Staff And Clients

The safety, health, and wellbeing of our staff members and clients are paramount. In order to ensure everyone is comfortable in our store, we have enacted the following procedures.

  • We are taking special precautions to disinfect / sanitize all surfaces, computers, phones, workspaces, and our showroom. Please refrain from touching products as much as possible. Our staff members are happy to assist you.

  • We will not be offering rental or demo bikes for the immediate future.

  • All bicycles contact points will be sanitized. Both repairs and new bicycles. 

  • We can provide sterile nitrile gloves for all test rides.

  • We are no longer booking bicycle fittings / sizings. 

  • Mandating that all staff members adhere to the 6 foot rule.

  • Any staff members exhibiting flu or cold symptoms will be required to stay home.

  • Adhering to all CDC guidelines for disease prevention. Adhering to all federal and state mandates.


Reductions In Staff 

Please understand that we are working with reduced staffing. We are proud to offer all of the services we are able, but things may take a bit longer than usual. We are exercising utmost caution to ensure our staff members and clients are safe and comfortable. Thank you in advance for your understanding. 

  • We have been inundated with mobile service requests! (THANK YOU!) Please understand we are working to complete your repairs as quickly as possible. We will provide an accurate timetable upon booking.
