Garneau's Futura XR Shoes are feature-packed shoes ready for any road. These sweet kicks utilize numerous vents in the soles and breathable mesh and synthetic leather uppers for superior ventilation and comfort. You can even switch the insoles to moderate the amount of airflow into the shoes when it's cold or hot. For maximum pedal power, there are stiff carbon soles, a ratcheting top buckle, and two decentered Velcro closures which also provide a custom fit. Garneau's heel retention system holds your feet in place, and reflective strips on the heels offer nighttime visibility for safety.
The perforated blue insole is for maximum airflow on hot days. The red one reduces airflow and is for cool days. The vents in the shoes draw air in to keep your feet dry and comfortable.
In order to mount your pedal cleats to your shoes, they must have matching bolt patterns (pedals come with cleats, shoes come without). There are three configurations (diagram) used on cycling shoes, SPD-R, Look/SPD-SL and SPD. Road shoes feature one, two or even all three of these. Mountain-bike shoes usually use the SPD pattern.
