UNLIMITED AND UNCOMPROMISING We're not crazy about the word "gravel." We love riding on it, but we don't like the way the cycling industry acts like it's a new sport. We prefer to just call it cycling because we're still riding bikes, we're still working up a sweat, we're still having fun and we're still beating up on our friends. Castelli's approach to all-surface riding is called Unlimited. Our riding now is a mixture of paved and unpaved surfaces, but we're riding just as hard and demanding just as much from our clothing. The Unlimited Jersey uses everything we know about moisture management, fit, shape, and the convenience of zippers that open easily and pockets that are the right shape and in the right place. But on this jersey we took the extra step of using fabrics that better resist snags from tree branches or vines that you'll find on your favorite trail. The main body fabric is a polyester knit with good stretch and moisture management but better durability than the typical fragile fabric that's OK on the road. Then on the sleeves, shoulders and back panel we use a stretch woven fabric that is extremely resistant, since this is the area that most often gets snagged. The ideal tight for most of your winter riding, the Velocissimo is focused on comfort for riding in mild to cool conditions. We've used our Thermoflex fabric for most of the tight. It's not our warmest fabric, nor does it repel water like Nano Flex, but it is the softest, stretchiest winter tight fabric. The comfort is immediate and lasting. For the lower leg from just below the knee, we switch to our Nano Flex fleeced stretch-woven fabric that's both warm and highly water repellent for protection against spray coming off wet roads. It's also highly stretchy, and we leave a raw edge so we can construct the ankles without zippers while making sure the tight remains easy to put on and take off. Just like the name says, we wanted to create the ideal simple emergency rain jacket. We made it completely waterproof and compact, and, as you'd expect from Castelli, we also gave it an amazing on-bike fit, yet it's still roomy enough to fit over a Gabba. It has all the trappings of a performance rain jacket, with the waterproof zipper, long tail, long sleeves, and wrist closures that can go over gloves, yet we knew you wouldn't want to break the bank with it, so the only real compromise compared to our top-of-the-line offerings is in breathability. We kept the styling toned down and added a bright colorway in Fiery Red so that you can easily use this as a commute jacket and still look great when you get to the office. A tri top has never been this comfortably fast Tri fashion (and the wind tunnel) have pushed toward short-sleeve tops, but we think there's still a place for the traditional sleeveless top. We've added panels on the sides and the sleeves in a very high-stretch yet tightly knit fabric that allows us to give the jacket a modern, close-to-body fit for aero gains on any terrain, and it actually keeps more heat in than a jacket that's flapping about. We've kept it very compact so that it can pack away into minimal space in a jersey pocket. We've completely re-engineered our entry-level vest. A new coated ripstop fabric keeps the wind off the front and spray off the back, while the tightly knit side panels allow the vest to stretch to fit a wide range of shapes while keeping a close-to-body fit that eliminates fabric flapping in the wind.
